We recently found ourselves in a pretty unique situation. Our sellers—homeowners we’ve built an amazing relationship with—actually pushed back when we offered to contribute part of our own commission toward a buyer concession to help get their home sold.

In a buyer’s market, where sellers are already being asked to give more, they were willing to walk away from the deal—or at least take on more of the burden themselves—because, on principle, they didn’t feel we should have to give up part of what we had earned.

That meant more to us than they probably realize.

Ultimately, our managing broker helped put it into perspective: What’s in the best interest of our clients? If contributing toward the concession helped our sellers accomplish their goal and get the transaction across the finish line, then that was the right thing to do.

So we did.

And today, we closed! 🏡

A win for the buyers. A win for our sellers. And definitely a win for us.

But what won’t show up on a closing statement is probably the part we value most—the trust, loyalty, and genuine relationship we’ve built with these homeowners. Knowing they had our backs just as much as we had theirs was an incredible feeling.

Real estate transactions come and go. Relationships like these are immeasurable.

Today was a great reminder of why we love what we do. ❤️
